अनुच्छेद 78: प्रधानमंत्री की कर्तव्यें
प्रधानमंत्री की निम्नलिखित कर्तव्यें होती हैं:
- संचार करना: संघ के प्रशासन से संबंधित मंत्रिपरिषद् के सभी निर्णयों और विधायिका के प्रस्तावों की सभी जानकारियाँ राष्ट्रपति को संचारित करना।
- जानकारी प्रदान करना: संघ के प्रशासन से संबंधित जानकारियाँ और विधायिका के प्रस्तावों से संबंधित जानकारियाँ राष्ट्रपति की आवश्यकता के अनुसार प्रदान करना।
- निर्णय प्रस्तुत करना: यदि राष्ट्रपति इच्छा करते हैं, तो मंत्रिपरिषद् द्वारा लिये गए किसी भी निर्णय को परिषद् के द्वारा विचार किए न गए किसी भी मुद्दे के बारे में मंत्रिपरिषद् के विचार के लिए प्रस्तुत करना।
- राष्ट्रपति की सलाह देना: संघ के प्रशासन से संबंधित और विधायिका के प्रस्तावों से संबंधित जानकारियाँ राष्ट्रपति की आवश्यकता के अनुसार प्रदान करना, और मंत्रिपरिषद् द्वारा लिये गए किसी भी निर्णय को परिषद् के द्वारा विचार किए न गए किसी भी मुद्दे के बारे में मंत्रिपरिषद् के विचार के लिए प्रस्तुत करना।
- अन्य कर्तव्यें: राष्ट्रपति द्वारा उन्हें सौंपे गए सभी अन्य कर्तव्यों का पालन करना।

Article 78: Duties of Prime Minister
It shall be the duty of the Prime Minister:
- To Communicate: To communicate to the President all decisions of the Council of Ministers relating to the administration of the affairs of the Union and proposals for legislation.
- To Furnish Information: To furnish such information relating to the administration of the affairs of the Union and proposals for legislation as the President may call for.
- To Submit Decisions: If the President so requires, to submit for the consideration of the Council of Ministers any matter on which a decision has been taken by a Minister but which has not been considered by the Council.
- To Advise President: To furnish such information to the President as the President may call for, relating to the administration of the affairs of the Union, and proposals for legislation, and to submit for the consideration of the Council of Ministers any matter on which a decision has been taken by a Minister but which has not been considered by the Council.
- Other Duties: To discharge all other duties as may be assigned to him by the President.
Article 78 of the Indian Constitution outlines the duties of the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister holds several responsibilities, including communicating decisions of the Council of Ministers to the President, providing information, submitting matters for consideration, and advising the President on various matters related to the administration and legislation. The Prime Minister is also entrusted with other duties assigned by the President.
